Canadians living with cystic fibrosis stand at a crossroads. Over the last year, the face of the disease has changed and this brings new challenges, new questions and new realities.
Dr. Anne Stephenson, the Medical Director of the Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Registry, says: "New breakthrough drugs and therapies are helping many people with CF live longer. This is cause for celebration, but it comes with uncertainty as well. How will we manage cystic fibrosis with an aging population? What does this clinical care look like? And who is benefitting most from the new treatments?"
Only one tool can help provide answers: the Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Registry. Our Registry includes nearly EVERYONE living with cystic fibrosis in Canada. This tool provides important information to ensure that clinical teams can adapt as needed to meet the new health issues faced by our community. And it helps researchers chart the future of the disease and develop new needed treatments.
